With the Marco Abella Roca Roja Priorat comes a first-class vegan red wine in the swirled glass. In this it presents a wonderfully dense, crimson color. At the edges, this Spanish red also shows a transition into garnet red. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. With a little time in the glass, this red wine from Spain offers wonderfully complex aromas of blackberry, black currant, mulberry and blueberry, rounded out by sun-warmed rocks and forest floor contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, Marco Abella's Roca Roja Priorat starts out wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. There are dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was bottled with just 0.3 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Roca Roja Priorat flatters with a velvety mouthfeel, without lacking freshness at the same time. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally inspires with exceptional length. Once again, hints of blueberry and mulberry show through.

Vinification of the Marco Abella Roca Roja Priorat

The basis for the powerful Roca Roja Priorat from Catalonia are grapes from the Garnacha grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in amphora and small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the vegan produced Roca Roja Priorat is aged for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Roca Roja Priorat is carefully harmonized.

Food recommendation for the Marco Abella Roca Roja Priorat

This Spanish wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is a perfect accompaniment to goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram, vegetable couscous with beef cakes or braised chicken in red wine.
