More information about Rosso di Montalcino DOC - Argiano

In the glass, the Rosso di Montalcino from Argiano reveals a dense ruby red color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from Tuscany enchants with notes of blackberry, mulberry, blackcurrant and blueberry. If we explore the aromas further, the oak wood adds oriental spices, vanilla and cinnamon.

On the palate, the Rosso di Montalcino from Argiano opens wonderfully aromatic, fruity and balanced. There is dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with just 0.8 g of residual sugar. The Rosso di Montalcino is extraordinarily fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, which has good ageing potential, ultimately delights with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Rosso di Montalcino from Argiano

The powerful Rosso di Montalcino from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Sangiovese grape variety. The Rosso di Montalcino is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the grapes for this Sangiovese wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Rosso di Montalcino are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for 12 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels.

Dining recommendations for the Rosso di Montalcino from Argiano

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots, ossobuco or vegetable couscous with beef rissoles.
