In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Württemberg finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of blackberry and mulberry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sandstone and marl join in.
Vinification of the Rotgold from Leon Gold Winery
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Cuvée Rotgold of Winery Leon Gold are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zweigelt grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Württemberg. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sandstone and marl. After the grape harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Rotgold can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months....
