The barrel-aged red wine Cuvee HASE from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen appears in the glass in bright purple. If you tilt the glass a little, a transition of the wine color in direction is recognizable at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. The bouquet of this red wine from Rheinhessen delights with nuances of mulberry, morello cherry, black currant and plum. If we trace the aromatics further, cinnamon, smoked meat and air-dried ham are added, encouraged by the oak influence.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. Balanced and multifaceted, this silky and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of morello cherry and black cherry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the red wine Cuvee HASE from Weingut Kühling-Gillot
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced cuvée red wine Cuvee HASE of Weingut Kühling-Gillot are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the pressing house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
