More information
The barrel-aged S1 Lemberger from the wine-growing region of Württemberg presents itself in the glass in a bright ruby red. With some sideways exposure, the wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. With a little time in the glass, this red wine from Germany presents wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, black currant, blackberry and mulberry, rounded out by beech smoke, smoked meat and air-dried ham contributed by the barrel aging.
On the palate, the S1 Lemberger from Weingut Alexander Heinrich starts out wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine presents itself wonderfully dense. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the S1 Lemberger flatters with a pleasing feel on the palate without lacking freshness. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Württemberg finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of blueberry and mulberry show through.
Vinification of the Weingut Alexander Heinrich S1 Lemberger
The balanced S1 Lemberger from Germany is a single-varietal wine, vegan vinified from the Lemberger grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off. After the wine is finished, the S1 Lemberger is carefully harmonized.
