With the winery Manz Saint Laurent Réserve comes a first-class red wine in the swirled glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light red color. After the first swirling, one can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it stands out on the walls of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Weingut Manz red wine presents all manner of blackberries, mulberries, black currants and blueberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, forest floor and sun-warmed rocks join the mix due to the aging in small wooden barrels.
This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 3.2 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Saint Laurent Réserve flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking freshness at the same time. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, more precisely from Guntersblum, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess.
Vinification of the winery Manz Saint Laurent Réserve
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Saint Laurent. Only impeccable grape material was harvested for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Weingut Manz. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of loess soil. The fact that the Saint Laurent grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the development of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Saint Laurent Réserve is aged for several months in oak barrels.
