The Terre di Campo Sasso Salento Rosso is wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. This velvety red wine is balanced and multi-faceted on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Salento Rosso flatters with a velvety mouthfeel, without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this wine from the Apulia wine-growing region, which is easy to age, finally impresses with its good length. There are again hints of black cherry and blackberry. Mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils are added in the finish.

Vinification of the Terre di Campo Sasso Salento Rosso

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Salento Rosso cuvée from Terre di Campo Sasso are Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils in Apulia. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, pasta with sausage dumplings or baked sheep's cheese parcels.
