Vinification of the Winery In den Zehn Morgen Sand and Limestone Cuvée
This balanced white wine from Germany is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Nahe region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and sandstone. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Sand and Limestone Cuvée are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in 2400 l double oak barrels.
