More information
Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World displays wonderfully elegant aromas of mulberry, plum, blueberry and blackcurrant, rounded off with gingerbread spice, cocoa bean and black tea, which are contributed by the barrel ageing.
On the palate, the Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba from Bersano opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with just 1 g of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba flatters the palate with a soft sensation without lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barbera d'Alba DOC, is impressive with a remarkable aftertaste.
Vinification of the Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba from Bersano
The balanced Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Barbera grape variety. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba is matured for a further 10 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Recommended pairing for the Sanguigna Barbera d'Alba from Bersano
