Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of the Saint Paul Pinot Noir flatters with of mulberries, blueberries and blackcurrants. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

Vinification of the Sankt Paul Pinot Noir from Weingut Friedrich Becker
This balanced red wine from Germany is vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of loam, limestone and clay. Sankt Paul Pinot Noir is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this red wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 18 months in oak barriques.

This German red wine is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to osso buco, leek tortilla or cabbage roulades.
