In the glass, the Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva from La Braccesca presents a dense ruby red color. With a little swirl, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from Tuscany enchants with aromas of mulberry, blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry. If we trace the aromas further, black tea, vanilla and gingerbread spice are added.
This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky, dense and melting texture. The finish of this very mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Tuscany, more precisely from Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, ultimately convinces with a remarkable finish.
Vinification of La Braccesca Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva
The basis for the powerful Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva from Tuscany are grapes from the Sangiovese grape variety. Of course, the Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is also characterized by more than just the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG soil. This Italian can literally be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself in an extraordinarily distinguished manner. The development of the grapes for this Sangiovese wine is influenced to a very large extent by the climate of the growing region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is aged for 32 months in 900-liter oak tonneaux. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by a long maturation in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
