The Corvina grape

Pioneers in Valpolicella

Cantina Santi has been a name in Valpolicella since its foundation in 1843. The winery was founded by Carlo Santi with the aim of producing wines that are typical of the region. The selection of the best grapes from the region was an important factor on the road to success. Attilio Santi took over the winery from Carlo and was one of the first in Italy to establish a modern sparkling wine production in the 1930s. In 1974 the company became part of the Gruppo Italiano Vini.

Focus on the local varieties

Santi focuses on native grape varieties typical of Valpolicella: Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella. This has enabled them to acquire a special knowledge of the grape varieties, which is reflected in the quality of the wines.
