More information
The elegant Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur of Château d'Yquem shines with bright light yellow in the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from Bordeaux delights with notes of mirabelle, peach and apricot. If we trace the aromatics further, caramel and black tea are added.
The elegant Château d'Yquem Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur shows us an incredibly fruity taste on the palate, which is of course also due to its residual sweet profile. Balanced and complex, this melting white wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Sauternes, finally convinces with exceptional reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by gravel and clay.
Vinification of the Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur from Château d'Yquem
This balanced white wine from France is vinified from the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grape varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Bordeaux. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and gravel. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and barely selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the elegant Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur is aged for several months in oak barrels.
