More information about Sauvignon Blanc trocken - Weingut Nigl

The elegant Sauvignon Blanc from the Nigl winery glides into the glass with a bright light yellow color. Swiveling the glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, because it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. In the glass, this white wine from Weingut Nigl shows aromas of red currant, passion fruit and mango, complemented by papaya. The Weingut Nigl Sauvignon Blanc presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp texture. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Sauvignon Blanc presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of passion fruit and mango appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess are added.

Vinification of the Winery Nigl Sauvignon Blanc

The basis for the balanced Sauvignon Blanc from Austria are grapes from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess. Sauvignon Blanc is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the winery Nigl Sauvignon Blanc

This Austrian wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to stir-fried vegetables with fish, spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto or chickpea curry.
