In the glass, Jürgen Ellwanger's Schnaiter Altenberg Riesling GG reveals a brilliantly shimmering light yellow color. When swirling the glass, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating brilliance that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. This single varietal German wine flatters in the glass with delightfully complex notes of pineapple, lemongrass, papaya and grapefruit. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 5.2 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the top wine segment, this German wine enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Schnaiter Altenberg Riesling GG reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Württemberg finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of pineapple and orange appear.
Vinification of the Schnaiter Altenberg Riesling GG by Jürgen Ellwanger
The elegant Schnaiter Altenberg Riesling GG from Germany is a single-varietal wine, made from the Riesling grape variety. The fact that the Riesling grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the ripening of the grapes. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Schnaiter Altenberg Riesling GG can harmonize further for several months on the fine lees.
