The Scilla from the wine-growing region of Calabria presents itself in the glass in bright ruby red. This Italian cuvée reveals in the glass wonderfully complex notes of blackberries and raspberries. In addition, hints of blueberry, garrigue and forest floor.
On the palate, the Scilla of Criserà starts wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense, velvety and fleshy texture. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Calabria, more precisely from Bivongi DOC, finally captivates with beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the sand-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Scilla of Criserà
The balanced Scilla from Italy is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Gaglioppo, Malvasia Nera and Nerello Mascalese. In Calabria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand. After harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
