More information
With the Viñas del Vero Secastilla Garnacha Tinta comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. Here it offers a wonderfully dense, crimson color. If you tilt the glass a bit, you can see a transition of the color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it some air by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which shows up in church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of Secastilla Garnacha Tinta shows of blackberries, mulberries and black currants. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging like even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
On the palate, Viñas del Vero's Secastilla Garnacha Tinta opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely fleshy and dense texture. In the finish, this matured from the wine-growing region of Aragon finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of mulberry and black cherry.
Vinification of the Secastilla Garnacha Tinta from Viñas del Vero
The basis for the powerful Secastilla Garnacha Tinta from Aragon are grapes from the Garnacha grape variety. Clearly, the Secastilla Garnacha Tinta is also determined by more than just the Somontano DO soil. This Spaniard can literally be called an Old World wine, which presents itself exceptionally complex. The grapes for this red wine from Spain are harvested, at the time of optimal maturity, exclusively by hand . After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house in the fastest way. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Secastilla Garnacha Tinta is aged for another 10 months in French oak barrels.
