Here, in this sun-drenched area, located southwest of Barcelona in the back of the famous Montserrat mountain range, the premium Cava house Segura Viudas was founded in 1958.

Top class Segura Viudas Cavas

Around the winery, at an altitude of 700-800 m, the vines for the own basic wines are cultivated on limestone, chalk and sandy soils. In the modern cellars, only the must from the first pressing is used for the production of cava. Segura Viudas is fermented in the bottle after the "método tradicional" with yeast cultures specially cultivated in its own house. This results in premium cavas of the highest quality and reputation, which are only offered in specialist shops and upscale restaurants.

Highest recognition for highest quality

Segura Viudas Cavas are among the most awarded cavas in Spain. For its high quality standards, the traditional company received the "Gran Vinitaly Special Award" in Verona in 2006. Already in 2004, Segura Viudas was named "Winery of the Year" by the renowned US magazine Wine & Spirits for the same reason.
