The Settebraccia Negroamaro Sussumaniello from Cantina Sampietrana is a beautiful Italian red wine that presents an intense dark red with cherry-red highlights in the glass. The nose reveals expressive aromas of ripe blueberries combined with spicy notes of cocoa and licorice. On the palate, this red wine is wonderfully elegant with a warm, harmonious body, carried by the sweet tannins typical of the variety, soft and round. The finish has a pleasant length.
Vinification of the Settebraccia Negroamaro Sussumaniello Salento Rosso IGT from Sampietrana
This beautiful red wine is made from the indigenous grape varieties Negroamaro 80% and Susumaniello 20%, an old, almost forgotten local grape variety from Puglia. The vines, which grow on calcareous and clayey soils, are cultivated using the traditional "alberello pugliese" method, which provides optimal results, especially for the local grape varieties. After manual harvesting from the first week of September, the grapes are macerated and fermented at a controlled temperature, then gently pressed and the marc separated from the wine. The wine is then matured in barriques for 12 months before being released for sale.
