A family takes up the challenge

The Setzer family was already growing wine in 1705. While the family was initially heavily involved in agriculture and cattle breeding, viticulture was only a small marginal activity. It was to last until 2001 that the family dedicated itself exclusively to wine. Hans and Uli setzer now run the estate, supported by their children Marie-Theres and Eugen. 

One name worldwide

The Hohenwarth region is situated next to the Kamptal and Wagram valleys, and at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level is significantly higher than the neighbouring areas. The area has little rainfall, but there is no need for additional irrigation, as the vines have very deep roots to survive the drier periods. 

Meanwhile the company exports to about 18 countries, contacts to 3-star restaurants exist. The Setzer wines are sent to the USA and Canada, but also to China and Australia, almost spanning the globe.
