Seven Flags Chardonnay Estate Wine Elgin Valley 2017- Paul Cluver

The cask aged Seven Flags Chardonnay Estate Wine Elgin Valley by Paul Cluver from the Cape South Coast wine growing region presents itself in the glass in bright golden yellow. The first nose of Seven Flags Chardonnay flatters with nuances of pink grapefruit, grapefruit and orange. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by barrel ageing notes of cocoa bean, vanilla and dark chocolate.

The Seven Flags Chardonnay Estate Wine Elgin Valley inspires with its elegant dry taste. It was bottled with only 1 gram of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. Balanced and complex, this dense white wine presents itself on the palate. The Seven Flags Chardonnay is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate due to its present fruit acidity. The finale of this white wine from the Cape South Coast wine-growing region finally convinces with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Seven Flags Chardonnay Estate Wine Elgin Valley by Paul Cluver

The balanced Seven Flags Chardonnay from South Africa is a pure wine, made from the Chardonnay grape variety. At optimal maturity, the grapes for Seven Flags Chardonnay are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of rough and unselective harvesters. After the manual harvest, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Then the fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation for 11 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Seven Flags Chardonnay Estate Wine Elgin Valley by Paul Cluver

This South African white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It goes perfectly as an accompanying wine to vegetable pot with pesto, leek tortilla or leek soup.
