More information about Shiraz - Allesverloren Estate

The powerful Shiraz from Allesverloren Estate enters the glass with a dense purple color. To the nose, this Allesverloren Estate red wine reveals all sorts of black cherries, plums, prunes and morello cherries. As if that wasn't already impressive, bitter chocolate, cocoa bean and vanilla join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.

This dry red wine from Allesverloren Estate is perfect for wine drinkers who prefer to drink bone dry. The Shiraz already comes quite close to this, having been vinified with just 3.1 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Shiraz is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region Coastal Region, more precisely from Swartland, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the clay and loam dominated soils.

Vinification of the Allesverloren Estate Shiraz

The powerful Shiraz from South Africa is a single varietal wine, made from the Shiraz grape variety. In the Coastal region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and loam. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Shiraz is aged for another 15 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Shiraz from Allesverloren Estate

Drink this red wine from South Africa best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to pasta with sausage dumplings, leek soup or leek tortilla.
