One grape variety - one vision

Ray Twomey Duncan and Justin Meyer founded Silver Oak in 1972 out of their love for the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. Their vision was to create a wine aged exclusively in American oak, with the potential to mature for several decades. The popularity of the estate grew rapidly and today the estate is a name in gastronomy worldwide. In 1994 Justin Meyer retired and sold his share to the Duncan family.

From tragedy to success

After the estate burned down in 2006, the buildings were rebuilt and the estate received LEED Platinum certification for ecological building. Silver Oak's vineyards are located in Napa and Alexander Valley, and are managed to minimise their impact on nature. Nate Weis currently oversees the wine production.
