The Small Hill Rosé from the wine-growing region the Burgenland presents itself in the glass in brilliantly shimmering strawberry-pink. The Leo Hillinger Small Hill Rosé presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This rosé wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the upper price range. Light-footed and complex, this crisp rosé wine presents itself on the palate. With its lively fruit acidity, Small Hill Rosé reveals itself to be impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful rosé wine from the wine-growing region the Burgenland, more precisely from Lake Neusiedl, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by black earth and loess soil.
Vinification of the Leo Hillinger Small Hill Rosé
The basis for the elegant Small Hill Rosé from Burgenland are grapes from the Pinot Noir, Saint Laurent and Zweigelt varieties. In Burgenland, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess, volcanic rock and black earth. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Small Hill Rosé are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Small Hill Rosé is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months....
