Sommerau Manor and Peter Mertes

Gut Sommerau was built in 1898 and completely renovated and expanded in 2014. In its own restaurant, you can refresh yourself with a glass of Riesling or simply enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful Ruwer Valley - and only a few minutes' drive from Trier. Wines from the Sommerau Schlossberg, a spacious terrace directly on the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path as well as first-class Italian cuisine in a modern ambience - you can experience all this at Gut Sommerau.  Available exclusively at Gut Sommerau and at RotwildKeller in Bernkastel-Kues.

Sommerau wines with the single vineyard "Sommerauer Schlossberg" belongs with up to 60% slope to the extreme steep slopes of the Ruwer, the soil consists of loose boulder slate, the rainwater seeps away immediately. Here, the Riesling ripens particularly slowly.
