More information
The barrel-aged Sons de Prades from the wine-growing region of Catalonia reveals itself in the glass in bright golden yellow. After the first swirl, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, because it does not stand out on the walls of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. In the glass, this white wine from Miguel Torres reveals aromas of grapefruit, orange, pink grapefruit, grapefruit and kumquats, complemented by Mediterranean herbs, bitter chocolate and garrigue. This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the top wine range, this Spaniard naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require much residual sugar. The final of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia, more precisely from Catalunya DO, finally convinces with beautiful reverberation.
Vinification of the Miguel Torres Sons de Prades
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Chardonnay. For this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Miguel Torres, only premium grape material was brought in. Sons de Prades is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Spaniard exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The fact that the Chardonnay grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and rather high alcohol content in the wine. After the manual harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
