More information

The barrel-aged Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir from the Baden winegrowing region reveals a brilliant shimmering light red in the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Weingut Franz Keller offers aromas of blackcurrants, plums, blackberries, plums and morello cherries, complemented by dark chocolate, oriental spices and cinnamon. On the palate, the Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir from Weingut Franz Keller opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this light-bodied red wine is characterized by an immensely velvety texture. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Baden, more precisely from Kaiserstuhl, finally thrills with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by loess.

Vinification of the Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir from Franz Keller Winery

The basis for the elegant Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir from Baden are grapes from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils made of loess. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir from Weingut Franz Keller

Drink this red wine from Germany ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as a companion to lemon chili chicken with bulgur, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs or spinach gratin with almonds.
