More information
The barrel-aged Pinot Noir S from the wine-growing region the Ahr shows in the glass in bright light red. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. In the glass, this Meyer-Näkel red wine displays aromas of blackberries, mulberries, violets, black cherries and black currants, complemented by other fruity nuances. On the palate, Meyer-Näkel's Pinot Noir S starts out wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry, others bone dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was bottled with only 0.2 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pinot Noir S presents itself on the palate fantastically fresh and lively. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of the Ahr finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of mulberry and lavender. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by slate and sandstone join in.
Vinification of the Meyer-Näkel Pinot Noir S
The balanced Spätburgunder S from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Spätburgunder grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Ahr region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of slate and sandstone. Spätburgunder S is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The ripening of the grapes for this wine made from Pinot Noir is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In the Ahr, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for this red wine from Germany, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 10 months of aging in oak barriques.
Food recommendation for the Meyer-Näkel Pinot Noir S
Experience this red wine from Germany ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as an accompanying wine to goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, lemon chili chicken with bulgur or lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs.
