On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and fleshy texture. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Spice Route Pinotage flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. In the Western Cape, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and granite. After harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Spice Route Pinotage is aged for another 18 months in oak barriques.
