More information about St. Andrews Shiraz - Wakefield Estate

The barrel-aged St. Andrews Shiraz from the wine-growing region of South Australia reveals itself in the glass in dense purple. At the edge, this Australian red also shows a transition into garnet red. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in distinct church windows at the rim of the glass. To the nose, this Wakefield Estate red wine reveals all manner of blackberries, black currants, mulberries and blueberries.

This dry red wine from Wakefield Estate is for people who like their wine dry. The St. Andrews Shiraz already comes very close to this, it was vinified with just 0.6 grams of residual sugar. This dense red wine is full-bodied and multilayered on the palate. Due to its lively fruit acid, the St. Andrews Shiraz is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of South Australia finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of blueberry and mulberry show.

Vinification of the Wakefield Estate St. Andrews Shiraz

This powerful red wine from Australia is made from the grape variety Shiraz. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the powerful St. Andrews Shiraz is aged for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the St. Andrews Shiraz is gently harmonized.

Food recommendation for the Wakefield Estate St. Andrews Shiraz

Drink this red wine from Australia ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as a companion to stuffed peppers, duck breast with sugar snap peas or braised chicken in red wine.
