Stimson Estate Cellars Merlot 2017 - Chateau Ste. Michelle
The Stimson Estate Cellars Merlot from Chateau Ste. Michelle is a wonderful American red wine cuvée made from Merlot (95%), Cabernet Sauvignon (4%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) grapes.
This wine presents itself in the glass with a brilliant ruby red and purple reflections. The complex bouquet pampers the nose with fruity aromas of juicy cherry and ripe plums. The nose is accompanied by fine hints of vanilla, caramel and liquorice. With a juicy, round and balanced body this American red wine convinces the palate. The gentle structure combines with the crisp and berry fruit to create a wonderful harmony. The long finish is accompanied by a fine spice.
Vinification of Merlot Stimson Estate Cellars
The grapes for this red wine grow in the cool wine growing areas of Columbia Valley and Yakima Valley. After the harvest, the grapes are gently ground and crushed cold for 1 to 2 days. Fermentation then takes place for a week in stainless steel tanks and rotating fermentation tanks. Finally, this wine matures in French oak barrels.
