More information
The Suggianzi from the wine-growing region of Calabria shows in the glass in bright platinum yellow. This Italian cuvée flatters in the glass wonderfully youthful notes of peach, mirabelle, pear and apple. In addition, hints of other fruits.
The Altomonte Suggianzi presents itself to the wine connoisseur wonderfully dry. This white wine never shows itself coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully silky. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Calabria finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of lemon and apricot. In the finish, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Altomonte Suggianzi
The balanced Suggianzi from Italy is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Inzolia, Malvasia Bianca and Moscatel. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Calabria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Suggianzi are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of punishing and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
Recommendation for the Suggianzi of Altomonte
Drink this white wine from Italy ideally well chilled at 8 - 10 ° C as a companion to spinach gratin with almonds, cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables or vegetable stew with pesto.
