In the glass, the Sulzfelder Weißburgunder from Zehnthof presents a brilliantly shimmering light yellow color. To the nose, this Zehnthof white wine reveals all manner of pomelo, lemongrass, nashi pear, lemon and grapefruit. As if that wasn't already impressive, green peppers, Mediterranean herbs and juniper join in due to the aging in large wooden barrels.
On the palate, the Sulzfelder Pinot Blanc from Zehnthof starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an immensely melting texture. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of Franconia finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of pink grapefruit and lime appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Zehnthof Sulzfelder Pinot Blanc
The basis for the elegant Sulzfelder Pinot Blanc from Franconia are grapes from the grape variety Pinot Blanc. In Franconia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in large wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Sulzfelder Pinot Blanc is aged for several months in 2400-liter double oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Sulzfelder Weißburgunder from Zehnthof
