Vinification of Bodegas Portia Summa Ribera del Duero
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from the Tempranillo grape variety. Of course, the Summa Ribera del Duero is also determined by more than just the soil Ribera del Duero DO. This Spaniard can literally be described as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. In addition, a considerable influence on the development of the vintage is the fact that the Tempranillo grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and rather high alcohol content in the wine. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 14 months in French oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Summa Ribera del Duero is carefully harmonized.
