With its incisive fruit acidity, Sweet March Grüner Veltliner Märzlese presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this dessert wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from the Weinviertel, finally captivates with exceptional reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and sand.
Vinification of the Weinrieder Sweet March Grüner Veltliner Märzlese
The elegant Sweet March Grüner Veltliner Märzlese from Austria is a single varietal wine, vegan made from the grape variety Grüner Veltliner. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, loess and gravel. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Grüner Veltliner is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Lower Austria, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate must weight. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
