More information about Boom Boom Syrah - Charles Smith Wines

The Syrah Boom Boom Columbia Valley of Charles Smith Wines appears in the glass in a dark cherry red and exudes, in keeping with its name, a powerful and intense bouquet. This is carried by lush aromas of wild berries and tobacco. These notes are complemented by lavender, pepper and vanilla.

This red wine cuvée impresses on the palate with fleshy fruit flavors and is carried the tannins long on the tongue.

Vinification for the Syrah Boom Boom!

The Syrah Boom Boom Columbia Valley from Charles Smith Wines is mostly Syrah, with Viognier and Grenache added. The grapes come from the Columbia Valley, more specifically from the Art Den Hoed, Pheasant, Weyns, Arete and Gamache vineyards. The soils of all sites are very different. In Art Den Hoed, basalt and limestone dominate, while in Pheasant the soils are rich in river gravel, which makes them very permeable. In Weyns, a clay-sand mixture with good storage properties prevails and Arete, with its climate, is very similar to the Middle Rhône. All parts do their part and contribute an aspect to the great Syrah boom boom.

After harvesting, the grapes are crushed whole and fermented with natural yeasts. It ages on its lees after fermentation and is then drawn to bottle.
