Not only with its deep dark purple color convinces the varietal Syrah Dominio de Valdepusa of Marques de Grinon.
The bouquet impresses with its intense aromas of ripe blueberries, raspberries, currants and plums - underpinned by exotic spices. On the palate, this Spanish red wine is juicy with wonderfully soft and very present tannins. The subtle acidity structure offers a wonderful interplay with the fruit richness. The finish is wonderfully long and persistent.
Vinification of the Marques de Grinon Syrah Dominio de Valdepusa
From the Spanish growing region D.O. Dominio de Valdepusa the grapes come from 13 year old vines. The soils are rich in limestone and clay.
The harvest from September to October is done exclusively by hand. The grapes are gently pressed in the winery and the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine then rests in French Allier oak barrels for a total of 12-15 months.
Food Pairing for the Syrah Dominio de Valdepusa Marques de Grinon
This dry red wine from Spain is a great food companion to lamb dishes in dark sauce, mushroom pan with gnocchi or even duck from the oven.
