More information
In the glass, the Syrah of La Source reveals a dense purple color. The bouquet of this red wine from Valle d'Aosta captivates with hints of sour cherry, blueberry, currant and blackberry. If we trace the aromatics further, pepper is added.
On the palate, the Syrah from La Source opens pleasantly aromatic, fruity and balanced. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Valle d'Aosta finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the sand-dominated soils.
Vinification of La Source Syrah
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Syrah. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from La Source. In the Aosta Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Syrah are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of punishing and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house in the fastest way. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Syrah can further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
