The roots of this winery are firmly anchored in Australia's oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. The winery is located in the heart of the Pokolbin vineyards and was founded by the McGuigan family, one of the country's best-known winemaker families.
The winery was founded in 1998 under the name "Hermitage Road", because the McGuigans lived in this street. However, the term "Hermitage" is protected and so the new name "Tempus Two", in the sense of "second attempt", came into being.
The grapes for Tempus Two grow only in small part in the Hunter Valley. The Limestone Coast stretches along the coast south of Adelaide. This region is the largest producer of premium wines in Australia. The Barossa Valley is one hour north of Adelaide. The climate is perfect for big reds wines with soul.
The vision of the winery is to create from traditional European grape varieties characteristic, modern and finesse wines. By combining the essence with stylistic finesse, wines are created that are affordable, exceptional and artistically sophisticated.
The equipment is innovative and striking. The labels make generous use of Australia's wealth of resources: tin and copper instead of paper. Not printed, but embossed. This results in a very noble appearance.
