The Terlaner Alto Adige/South Tyrol DOC from Cantina Terlan glitters straw yellow in the glass with green nuances and unfolds delicious aromas of green apple and white peach accompanied by fine nuances of lemon balm and mint. The fruity notes make this historic cuvée from Cantina Terlan so lively and soft. The taste is characterised by an elegant balance of freshness and minerality. Remarkable is the long, delicately aromatic finale of this wine.
Vinification for the Terlaner Alto Adige/South Tyrol DOC from Cantina Terlan
This historic cuvée has been produced since the foundation of the winery. The Terlaner Alto Adige is vinified from the Pinot Blanc 60%, Chardonnay 30% and Sauvignon Blanc 10% grape varieties. The Pinot Blanc, which accounts for the largest share, provides the freshness and the good acidity, from the Chardonnay comes the softness and warmth, while the Sauvignon Blanc complements with fine aromas.
The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. The pressing of the whole grapes is followed by the natural clarification of the must by sedimentation, then the wine is fermented slowly and temperature-controlled in stainless steel tanks. The maturation on the fine yeast takes place over a period of 5 to 7 months in stainless steel tanks (80%) for a part and in large wooden barrels for the other part. At the end of the maturing period, the two wines are blended and bottled.
