More information about Terlaner Alto Adige DOC - Cantina Terlan

The Terlaner Alto Adige from Cantina Terlan in Trentino-Alto Adige presents a bright, light yellow color in the wine glass. When swirling the wine glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of the Terlaner Alto Adige reveals nuances of apples, pears and apricots. The fruity notes of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing such as lovage, juniper and green peppers.

This dry white wine from Cantina Terlan is ideal for wine drinkers who can't drink their wine dry enough. The Terlaner Alto Adige comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 1.7 grams of residual sugar. This melting, silky and crisp white wine is balanced and multi-layered on the palate. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Terlaner Alto Adige flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of apricot and vineyard peach.

Vinification of the Terlaner Alto Adige from Cantina Terlan

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Terlaner Alto Adige cuvée from Cantina Terlan are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The Terlaner Alto Adige is obviously also determined by the climate and winegrowing style of the Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC. This Italian wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. The ripening of the grapes for this wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Terlaner Alto Adige are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Dining recommendations for Cantina Terlan Terlaner Alto Adige

Ideally, drink this white wine from Italy moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompaniment to asparagus salad with quinoa, roasted trout with ginger pear or spicy curry with lamb.
