Terra Alta La Xalamera, from Herència Altés of Catalonia, offers a dense purple color in the glass. Held at a slight angle, a transition of hue toward garnet red is evident at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in strong church windows at the rim of the glass.
