More information
The elegant Terroir Blaufränkisch from the house of Leo Hillinger shines into the glass with bright purple. With a little sideways exposure, the wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling it, you can perceive a first-rate balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls as watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. The first nose of Terroir Blaufränkisch reveals notes of plums, blueberries and morello cherries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
This Austrian wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities, and so this Austrian naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. The finale of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region the Burgenland finally thrilled with beautiful reverberation.
Vinification of the Terroir Blaufränkisch from Leo Hillinger
The balanced Terroir Blaufränkisch from Austria is a single-varietal wine, organically vinified from the grape variety Blaufränkisch. Terroir Blaufränkisch is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The fact that Blaufränkisch grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the vintage. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
