Die Weine der King's-Serie bekamen ihren Namen von William de Marisco, einem Vorfahren von Marisco-Eigentümer Brent Marris. William soll angeblich ein unehelicher Sohn des Königs Henry I. gewesen sein. Mit dieser Weinserie zelebriert Brent Marris die durchaus turbulente Geschichte seiner Familie.
