Celler Tianna Negre - Wines from the Mediterranean island
The winery Tianna Negre is located in Binissalem, a village on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Wine was cultivated here long before the birth of Christ, as evidenced by found clay containers used for wine trade. Until the 19th century, trade in wine flourished on Mallorca, but vine phylloxera destroyed large parts of the island's vineyards. Few wine-growers kept their land with grape varieties such as the red manto negro or the white prensal blanc. Among them was the Morey Garau family from Binissalem and Consell.
The descendants of this same family have set themselves the goal of reviving the Mallorcan wine culture and following its old family tradition and have therefore rebuilt the Tianna Negre winery a few years ago. Autochthonous and international grape varieties are cultivated here, processed in the ultra-modern winery and sold in the shop. Thanks to the many hours of sunshine, a long maturing period, warm days and fresh nights, the wines of the Tianna Negre estate reach a wonderful intensity that connoisseurs appreciate.
