More information about Tinto - Herdade dos Grous

This barrel-aged Tinto from the Alentejo winemaking region shows a bright purple color in the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Herdade dos Grous reveals aromas of black currants, blueberries, mulberries, blackberries and morello cherries, complemented by vanilla, gingerbread spice and cinnamon. This red from Herdade dos Grous is just right for all wine connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly fleshy and dense texture. In the finish, this storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Alentejo finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of black cherry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Tinto from Herdade dos Grous

This balanced red wine from Portugal is vinified from Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Shiraz and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Alentejo. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of shale. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Herdade dos Grous Tinto

Enjoy this red wine from Portugal best tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as a companion to Boeuf Bourguignon, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
