More information about Tinto Reserva - Quinta do Paral

With the Quinta do Paral Tinto Reserva comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, crimson color. At the edges, this Portuguese red also shows a transition to garnet red. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which shows in church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Quinta do Paral red wine presents all sorts of black cherries, plums, blueberries, blackberries and black currants. As if that were not already impressive, the aging in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as vanilla, cocoa bean and cinnamon.

On the palate, Quinta do Paral's Tinto Reserva starts out wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Finally, the finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Alentejo, which has good aging potential, impresses with a beautiful finish.

Vinification of the Quinta do Paral Tinto Reserva

The basis for the powerful Tinto Reserva from Alentejo are grapes from the grape varieties Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Marselan. The Tinto Reserva is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, because this Portuguese exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Marselan grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has an influence on the maturity of the grapes that cannot be dismissed. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and rather high alcohol content in the wine. After the manual harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Tinto Reserva is carefully harmonized.
