The bubbles of this sparkling wine are vibrant and long-lasting in the glass. The nose of this Sella & Mosca sparkling wine reveals all kinds of lime, lemongrass, acacia, lime and orange. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in stainless steel adds further aromas such as yeast plait, cream toffee and brioche.
The Sella & Mosca Torbato Spumante Brut Alghero impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 5.3 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. This light sparkling wine is light-footed and complex on the palate. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Torbato Spumante Brut Alghero has a pleasant mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this sparkling wine from the wine-growing region of Sardinia is impressive with its considerable length. There are again hints of orange and pomelo. Mineral notes from the limestone and clay-dominated soil are added to the finish.
Vinification of the Sella & Mosca Torbato Spumante Brut Alghero
The elegant Torbato Spumante Brut Alghero from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Torbato grape variety. In Sardinia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, limestone and clay. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation of the base wines. Once the cuvée has been blended, further ageing takes place using the classic bottle fermentation method. The Sella & Mosca Torbato Spumante Brut Alghero then matures in the bottle for several months before being disgorged.
