Vinification of La Source Torrette
The basis for the balanced Torrette from Valle d'Aosta are grapes from the Petit Rouge and Vien de Nus varieties. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in the Aosta Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of sand. The berries for this red wine from Italy, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
Serving recommendation for the Torrette of La Source
This red wine from Italy should be enjoyed best tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to osso buco, braised chicken in red wine or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
