More information
The elegant Touriga Franca from the pen of Monte da Ravasqueira flows into the glass with a bright ruby red color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Portugal presents wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.
On the palate, the Touriga Franca from Monte da Ravasqueira opens pleasantly aromatic, fruity and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others are really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with just 0.9 g of residual sugar. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly powerful and dense texture. The moderate fruit acidity gives the Touriga Franca a velvety mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this storable red wine from the Alentejo wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. There are again hints of blackberry.
Vinification of the Monte da Ravasqueira Touriga Franca
The basis for the balanced Touriga Franca from Portugal are grapes from the Touriga Franca grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood casks at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the elegant Touriga Franca is matured for 18 months in French oak barriques.
