More information
The Attems Trebes Ribolla Gialla Collio is a first-class white wine. It has a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. If you swirl the glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. This Attems white wine reveals all kinds of kumquats, dried fruit, Gallia melon, mangoes and lemons to the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as garrigue, green peppers and lovage.
On the palate, the Trebes Ribolla Gialla Collio from Attems starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruity and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This white wine belongs to the latter group, as it was vinified with only 0.6 g of residual sugar. This dense white wine is balanced and multi-faceted on the palate. The Trebes Ribolla Gialla Collio reveals itself to be exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of orange and dried plums. Mineral notes from the sand and sandstone-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of the Attems Trebes Ribolla Gialla Collio
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Ribolla Gialla. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Attems. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sand and sandstone soils in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The Trebes Ribolla Gialla Collio is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the grapes for this Ribolla Gialla wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight, among other things. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 9 months of ageing in large oak barrels.
